Geese, Swans and Robins

It was meant to be raining today, but it wasn’t, so as Danny was nagging to go ’somewhere’, I persuaded my dad to take us to Roath Park Lake.  I have blogged about this park and lake before as it’s a regular favourite to go for a walk.

All the birds seemed to have spring fever.  As soon as we got out of the car we spotted two swans busily pulling twigs out of the water and piling them up ready to make a nest, of course once I was in a position to take a photo they’d stopped doing it.  I spotted a few pairs of swans doing this, there was also quite a few amorous looking pigeons.

I never feed the birds at the Lake, as, to be honest, I’m a bit scared to.  This is what happens.

Tree Hugging

As we were walking down the path towards the play area, I spotted something moving in the undergrowth, and a sort of cheeping noise.  It was this little chap.

imgp3561I got an even closer photo, but the camera focused on the leaves rather than the Robin.

There was another Robin just up the path, I think they were together.

Eventhough the sun was out, it was really cold.  Over the last week we’ve got used to having warmer weather,  hopefully it won’t be too long before it returns.

That looks like a gorgeous place. I guess we are definitely getting to tree climbing/limb breaking territory now with the age of our respective children!
