This is Squeak, she seems to really enjoy looking in through the kitchen window. If a cat appears they all jump up on the bench and start tapping on the window to let me know. I wrote a post about a week ago about Squeak preening constantly at her feathers on her chest, in the above photo you can just see the feathers are a bit ruffled at the base of her neck. I still don’t know why she’s doing it, I can’t see any nasties on her, and when she’s free-ranging she doesn’t seem to touch the area.
I had a few hours in the garden yesterday afternoon trying to clear up some of the mess the chickens have created. I knew my flowerbeds contained a few stones, but I hadn’t realised how many until the chickens transferred a large amount of them onto the grass. Every time I raked a load of grass, leaves, stones and twigs into a pile ready to go into the green bin, Mash would leap onto it and start kicking it all over the place. Chickens can be so helpful.
I was hoping some of my daffodils would flower for St David’s Day, but they haven’t.

They should look really pretty if they all come out at the same time. I’ll try and get a photo before the chickens squash them.
I’ve had a load of crocus’ appear in the middle of the grass, and they were all open in the sun this morning looking really pretty.
Oliver and the chickens were out enjoying the sun this morning too.

I’m really looking forward to seeing leaves appearing on the trees, and more plants flowering. I hope the sun sticks around too.
Oh, your chickens are so funny! Thanks for sharing!
